Fiona Grond and Luca Zambito are undoubtedly among the most interesting discoveries of the young Munich jazz scene, which has been steadily gaining in profile and visibility for several years. Together they are now exploring the tradition of the piano-singing duo and its possibilities of expression. Inspired by role models such as Norma Winstone and Fred Hersch or Cecile McLorrin Salvant and Sullivan Fortner, the two set their own compositions as well as favorite pieces from a wide variety of different songwriters to music. In an intimate dialogue, the interaction can develop freely, playing with harmony, melody and phrasing. This creates captivating moments of surprise, sometimes playfully rhythmic, sometimes delicate and lyrical but always enchantingly beautiful.
