The duo moves with subtle intuition between jazz, chamber-like song artistry, and experimental songwriting – always in search of what lies between the notes.
Inspired by lyrical duo traditions such as those of Norma Winstone & John Taylor, as well as by the poetic clarity of Joni Mitchell or the narrative thinking of Gabriel Kahane, Grond and Zambito develop their very own sonic aesthetic. Their music is not a return to existing forms, but a translation into the present – a contemporary, searching language that invites listeners to become part of the process.
